Thiscaseprovidesafairlytypicalexampleofdiffusefattyinfiltrationoftheliver.Hepaticsteatosis,fattyliver,andfattyinfiltrationoftheliverarealltermsusedinterchangeablybymostradiologists.Someauthorshaveobjectedtothetermfattyinfiltrationsincetheybelievethatthetermimpliesinfiltrationoffatbetweenhepatocytesratherthanaccumulationwithinhepatocytes,butthisexpressionissowidelyusedthatitseemsunlikelytodisappear.

本病例为一个相当典型的肝脏弥漫性脂肪浸润的病例。肝脏脂肪变性、脂肪肝、肝脏脂肪浸润在很多放射科医师认为是可以通用的术语，但有部分作者反对肝脏脂肪浸润这一术语，认为肝脏脂肪浸润这种说法会让人误认为脂肪存在与肝细胞间隙、而非肝细胞内。但这一说法使用已久，很难去改变了。
